Ever wondered how festive and vibrant the streets of Brazil are with its lively parties, vibrant colors, infectious dances and adrenaline-pumping street football games? Truly a cultural melting pot of ethnicities, Brazil has cultivated this very colorful and lively street culture that has thrived and infected others who have been witnesses to this amazing atmosphere.

And while we may not all have the privilege to sneak a peek and experience the streets of Brazil, Havaianas returns to its roots by bringing Brazil to the Philippines through Make Your Own Havaianas 2014! With its Launch Party happening May 6, 2014 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Make Your Own Havaianas kicks off with a festive Brazilian street party in true Havaianas style, as they invited guests in their colorful carnaval-inspired outfits and engaged them in activities such as personalized wish ribbons or “bonfims“, rousing performances by the Brazilian performance community and of course, making their very own Havaianas styles were available for every attendee.

But the real thrill in Make Your Own Havaianas came in the ability to mix and match everything: from the soles and the straps, to color combinations inspired by street art, and to the fun limited edition pins – all exhibiting the spirit of Brazil. As a highlight for the ninth year of this event, a 200-year old tradition from Brazil was the inspiration behind this year’s commemorative pair featuring colorful Bonfims — Brazilian wish ribbons that are worn for good luck. The print wishes every wearer Alegria, Diversao, Empolgacao, Euforia, and Felicidade or Joy, Amusement, Excitement, Euphoria and Bliss – true to the Havaianas always summer spirit.

“The streets of Brazil are a free-flowing and spontaneous back and forth of festive cheer, very evident with its people”

As the ultimate activity for celebration of self-expression, Havaianas encourages everyone to be as daring as the Brazilians when customizing their flip-flops.

Beauty queens show off their Filipina curves in JAG jeans

Shoppers and mall spectators recently had a surprise treat when 40 statuesque and totally stunning candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2014 flocked to the Glorietta Mall for a refreshing afternoon of fun and shopping for sexy jeans.

PCM_2955

The mall event was a treat from JAG Jeans, which has been supporting Bb. Pilipinas for two years and now serves as a gold sponsor of the pageant. Wearing fashion staple white tees with Bb. Pilipinas logo paired with sexy skinny JAG jeans, the candidates eagerly scoured the JAG boutique in Glorietta 2 for the perfect pieces to flaunt their curves.

After the shopping spree, an impromptu Q&Aportion happened inside the flagship store as the girls gamely answered questions thrown at them by the media. Pageant contestants turned the store into a mini fashion show ramp by showing off their curves in their newly scored jeans paired with tops. Most of them revealed that they have been looking forward to the event and have been listing their JAG must-haves in advance.

Not only did JAG provide an enjoyable experience for the binibinis, it also highlighted the enviable Filipina bods. Looking at how the jeans fit their figures, everyone could tell that JAG is really made for the Filipina curves, which deserve international acclamation. With shopped items in hand, they exited the store, waved for the cameras and chorused, “Thank you, JAG!”

The candidates also invited their fans to vote them for the She’s So JAG Award 2014, an online contest on JAG Jeans Facebook page. Fans have a big influence in determining the She’s So JAG Award 2014 winner through the online voting process which counts as 50% of the score. The other 50% of the score will be based on Jag Creative Team judging results. Judging will be determined on the basis of who best exemplifies the JAG image selected from the Top 10 candidates with the most ‘likes’. The She’s So JAG Award 2014 winner will receive Php50,000 plus a year supply of JAG merchandise. While one lucky fan will receive two VIP tickets to the Bb. Pilipinas Coronation Night plus an iPhone 5.

Camille’s main inspiration for her “Camille Co for Tomato” collection is the young working woman with a busy and active lifestyle on a mission to carve a successful career for herself. Camille says every young working woman should stand out wherever she goes. A young working woman should be able to look stylish at all timesso her colleagues would take her seriously and believe in her credibility to perform best at work.

Since a young career woman is not established financially yet, her wardrobe should be something she can afford. Camille’s Collection is a complete wardrobe that is priced affordably for retail customers. Tops, shorts, pants, skirts, dresses, cover-ups and bags can all be mixed and matched within the colection and with other pieces one already owns. Each is a statement piece on its own that can make plain clothes look fashionable when styled with the collection.

TomatoXcamillecoDSC_0337 fashionAtetheLawyer

Customized prints are all original designs by Camille Co herself. These are mix of geometrics and stripes that are in line with the current trend of the season for women’s fashion. The collection’s silhouette is a mix of loose highlights, curve enhancing bodycons, skinny pants and cover-ups with relaxed fit that can be worn as a top or jacket.

Bags are versatile enough for a day or nightwear. Functional to carry all corporate and girly stuff in the morning and at the same time appropriate to bring to an evening event.

TomatoXcamillecoDSC_0342 fashionAtetheLawyer

I really like the neutrals as the base that when added accent hues like teal, pink and yellow it becomes refreshing and easy on the eyes.

Surely if your a young women of today that is active, created fun with hints of playfulness and sexiness, Camille Co’s collection for Tomato is the perfect wardrobe affordable yet stylish.

Fatima Guerrero Opened Hari Raya Muslim Fashion Show 2013

Rediscover Bangsamoro

Rediscover Bangsamoro

“Fashion is not just the clothes, nice dresses and bags, the mix and match and all but Fashion is Culture.”

“You can tell a person’s culture base on the way he/she dresses up. Its not judgement nor stereotype, but its image. You have to let your clothes to speak for you. ”

Project Runway Philippines’ first Muslim designer  Fatima Guerrero opened the the Hari Raya Show in her neon color blocking pieces veiled in printed headpieces which gained the attention of the crowd.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims. Hari Raya literally means ‘celebration day’, and Hari Raya Aidilfitri is the day that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of dawn-to-sunset fasting.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is considered one of the two most important celebrations for Muslims, the other being Hari Raya Haji – the festival of Abraham’s sacrifice.-

Part of the celebration is a Muslim Fashion Show, where they should interpret the theme “Rediscover Bangsamoro” in Muslim traditional costumes, to Muslim inspired styling and designs.

Its my first time to watch a Muslim Fashion Show but I really enjoyed it, I love the styling- the layering, the flowiness of the fabric, and most of all theculture itself, it makes you more curious whats inside, mysteriously unveiling.

It is indeed a modern take in Muslim fashion, covered but gorgeous, loud but sophisticated, big but shapy.

Congratulations to our Muslim brothers and sisters! 🙂

Mexx IMG_9716 by Miguel Alomajan

From the stylish cities around the world, Mexx makes a mark in the Philippines with its first-ever fashion party at the posh East Wing Atrium of One Shangrila.

Taking center stage during the event was the Mexx Metropolitan collection – an array of eye-catching apparel for women, men and children that fuses fashion-forward sensibilities with the demands of urban living.

“We are very proud to present our latest collection to our Philippine market,” states Peter Hammond, Senior Vice-President for Asia-Pacific of Mexx. “And I am confident that the Filipinos, with their fun and adventurous sense of style, will embrace the vibrant Mexx fashion.”

mexx3

It is this same free-spirited approach in dressing that inspired the brand to form the MEXXicons comprised of Xandra Rocha, Marco Rodriguez, Marc Shulze and Nicole Andersson. Positive-thinkers, open-minded and confident, the fab four embody the Mexx brand philosophy of fusing creative energy in everything – from the way they approach their work, the way they interact with others, and, of course, to they way they dress up.

“We believe that your wardrobe should give you multiple possibilities,” Hammond enthuses. “Mexx outfits, particularly the Mexx Metropolitan collection, offer something special that can be worn from dawn until well past dusk. That is the essence of city living and we capture it in a truly fashionable way in our clothing line.”

Confident, playful and inspiring, the Mexx Metropolitan collection is set to take the city by storm by giving both women and men what they want and what they look for in stylish apparel.
